Aberdeen City Council approve Kingswells fast food drive-thrus

On 22nd October Aberdeen City Council formally approved the application by Aurora Planning for 3 food and drink units, 2 of which are drive through, next to the vets on the A944.

The councillors had approved this in April despite the planner’s recommendation of refusal, and numerous objections, including from WAEPAL and the Kingswells Community Council  who were both represented and spoke at the pre-determination hearing.

With the Mcdonald’s and Starbucks being approved just at the entrance to Westhill, we will now have 5 fast food outlets within a mile of each other.

Now what could have been the catalyst for these developments?   Answers on a postcard…..

Link to decision notice and our objection.
