WAEPAL has submitted a brief response to the main issues report for the next Strategic Development Plan for Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire. We’ve focused our response on the key issues affecting West Aberdeen:
- the A944 corridor and the significant impact of development on transport and congestion and the need for strategies to reduce this impact.
- the need to protect Green Belt and the space between communties
- encouraging high-footfall generating uses to be placed at distance from AWPR junctions. WAEPAL considers that any high footfall-generating use placed at or close to AWPR junctions is contrary to the commitment to ensure that the AWPR does not become a development corridor.
