No Kingsford StadiumTraffic and Parking

Statement from No Kingsford Stadium Limited given to Evening Express in response to Aberdeen City Council's Roads Department Report

Statement from No Kingsford Stadium Limited given to Evening Express in response to Aberdeen City Council’s Roads Department Report stating that AFC have not done enough to resolve transport issues.

The document prepared by ACC Roads Department clearly demonstrates the problems with AFCs stadium proposals.
AFC have failed to answer the difficult questions about safety, transportation and parking because they are unable to provide valid answers for both planners and the community.

AFC have failed to produce evidence of any agreements with local businesses for car parking or to present statements that Police Scotland will make available the considerable resources required to operate both the traffic management and the controlled parking areas.

The Kingsford site is entirely unsustainable; the transport assessment underestimates the use of private cars and presents a bus travel plan with no justification to support the claim that 4500 supporters will use it. The stadium proposal would create a car dependant development in an area served by limited public
transport and an almost non-existent walking catchment. As such is does not comply with local and national planning policy.

No Kingsford Stadium Limited is committed to ensuring that the many policy breaches and flaws in this application are highlighted so that local councillors in Aberdeen City can take the correct decision, supported by local and national planning policy, to refuse permission to build on this location.
